Lisa Wight
LISA WIGHT joined Metcalf & Company in July of 2006.
She has been a practicing member of the Nova Scotia
Barristers' Society since 2004. Lisa graduated with her
B.Comm. and B.A. degrees from Dalhousie University in
1996 and 1999 respectively, and obtained a Bachelor of
Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa in 2000.
She went on to obtain her LL.B. from Dalhousie Law
School in 2003.
Lisa has worked in private practice in a wide area of law
including civil litigation, municipal and property matters.
Prior to joining Metcalf & Company she worked with the
Federal Department of Justice in the Tax Law Services
Department litigating EI, GST and Income Tax cases.
Lisa is a well-rounded litigator and advisor, her focus at
our firm is on marine insurance litigation and marine
issues of concern to our client base. Lisa has significant
experience representing clients in marine passenger
injury claims, maritime liens and secured transactions
litigation. Lisa also actively represents cargo
underwriters in connection with loss and theft of
product claims.
Lisa is a member of the Eastern Admiralty Law
Association, the Canadian Maritime Law Association, and
Women's International Shipping & Trading Association
(WISTA).
